The Greenway corridor will be dotted with parks. One such park could transform the parking lot between Washington Street and Liberty Street, which is mostly floodplain. Central to downtown and the Old West Side, this leafy oasis could feature:
- a channel or swale with native flowering plants
- a boardwalk crossing over the swale
- a rainwater garden near the Washington Street side
Fed by water collected from the parking lot and greenery, the swale and garden would be a showpiece of urban stormwater cleansing and management.
